Mohammed bin Abdullah: Diabetes prevalence among adults reaches 15%

During the opening of the 4th Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrine Conference, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, confirmed that the prevalence of diabetes among adults in Bahrain has reached 15%. The conference highlighted the importance of both international and local cooperation in combating diabetes and reducing its spread. It also discussed the latest therapeutic and technological advancements in the field. Dr. Wiam Hussein emphasized that the conference aims to exchange expertise and knowledge among specialists, stressing the importance of early diagnosis and effective disease management to reduce associated health risks. The conference also addressed national efforts to combat diabetes and ensure quality healthcare for patients, as part of achieving the goals of the National Health Plan by 2030.
