Digital Diabetes Tools in Demand

Digital tools for managing diabetes are gaining popularity in Bahrain, with experts considering this a positive trend. These innovative devices, ranging from insulin pumps to sensors and Bluetooth-enabled insulin reservoirs, make it easier for diabetic patients to manage their condition. Dr. Wiam Hussein, Senior Consultant at the Royal Bahrain Hospital’s Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, emphasized the benefits of these devices, noting that they allow patients to avoid frequent needle pricks and provide more accurate blood sugar monitoring.

The technology helps diabetic patients calculate the necessary insulin dosages, particularly during meals, making life more manageable. Dr. Hussein also discussed how these tools help improve patient outcomes and reduce the need for multiple daily injections. Bahrain, which has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the Gulf, is seeing an increase in the use of such digital tools, and experts are optimistic that these innovations will shape the future of diabetes management in the region.
